Some of the best drama in life happens in sports.

Within each game are individual showdowns, personal struggles, and intense locker room drama. You are a member of an exclusive club with access to these amazing stories.

But when you’ve got the ball in the fourth quarter, you don’t pull a fan out of the stands to lead the team. In the bottom of the 9th, you don’t put the bat boy in to pinch hit. And to tell your sports story, you need a writer who understands sports.

This is where I come in. Hi, I’m Conor Kelley. The Sports Ghost.

As a former ballplayer, I learned to write on long bus rides and in cheap motels. When my playing career ended, I studied in one of the world’s best creative writing programs. There I learned from bestselling authors how to craft a story, polish it to perfection, and navigate the complicated waters of the publishing world.

At an international publishing house, I made deals for nonfiction sports books and worked with professional sports leagues to get them onto bookshelves. I’ve published articles in national sports magazines, fan blogs, and local newspapers across the country. Along the way, I’ve also coached, scouted, and advised athletes starting their own careers.

This unique career path—balancing writing and sports—has made me the trusted voice of:

  • An MLB Hall of Famer turned MLBPA executive

  • The U.S. Track and Field National Coach of the Year

  • An NFL three-time Pro Bowler turned NFL Network analyst

  • Baseball’s most infamous player

  • A leader in the sports betting industry

  • A D1 women’s basketball player turned public speaker

  • An NCAA football record holder

  • A groundbreaking high school football coach

  • A female golf analyst and talk show host

  • The former CEO of a major hockey equipment company

If you have a sports story to tell, I’m the writer you need.

Let’s get the ball rolling.
